Senior Director, Market Research
Elif Andac-Jones, PhD, joined the Cancer Support Community in March 2022. She earned her PhD and MA in Sociology from University of Washington, Seattle, and her BA from Bogazici University in Istanbul. Prior to joining CSC, she has worked as a research consultant for a wide range of institutions such as the NIH, the World Bank, and the European Society for Gynecological Cancers/ENGAGE, as well as many nonprofits and NGOs in the United States, the Middle East, Europe, Central Asia, and North Africa, focusing on improving access, diversity, and equity through social justice, human rights, public health, health care equity, and advocacy as well as global development research. Her work ranges from identifying group and institutional behavior, to assessing influence and impact, to developing policies and programs in response to changing social problems, with a focus on mixed-methods research and comparative analysis, integrating qualitative and quantitative data as needed. She previously taught at the University of Kansas as a tenure track professor of sociology and continues to teach at Georgetown University as an adjunct professor of sociology.
Elif is feeling very excited to continue her career at CSC, where she hopes to use her experience to help create tangible change: help make evidence-based, science-supported decisions and translate them into more efficient and effective programs, policies and strategies, bridging social sciences and business communities. She lives in Fairfax, Virginia, in the greater Washington, D.C., area with her husband and 2 daughters.
