Kyerra Carr was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia by way of Richmond, Virginia. During her undergraduate career at Virginia Union University, she pursued her dreams of providing her unique skills and personality to the mass media world through working opportunities at WTKR News Channel 3 and WTVR CBS 6.
In 2014, Kyerra returned to her beloved alma mater, serving as the Program Coordinator for International Studies. Through that opportunity, she was able to use her creative eye to develop marketing strategies for study abroad programs. Her tenure at Virginia Union University led her to many other opportunities which included, Program Coordinator for Student Activities and Marketing Communications Specialist for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs. Those opportunities developed her eye for design and detail. Kyerra has created strategic communication plans, media kits, recruitment material, orientation schedules, and exceptionally curated events.
Recently, Kyerra obtained her Master’s in Art in Media Management from Virginia State University while being employed with the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Department of Housing and Community Development. With that, she plans to use her experience and expertise in mass media, and government relations, along with her love of the beauty industry to develop innovative, well-organized, creative, and professional online content, event curation, and quality products. Kyerra will continue to push the envelope on not only HOW or WHAT she creates, but WHO she is creating for.
