Cynthia Schwartz joined the Cancer Support Community in 2021 as a Director of Research in the Research and Training Institute (RTI). She is currently in the process of completing her Ph.D. studies in Research, Measurement, and Statistics from Kent State University. While trained in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, her focus is on the mixed methods approach to research which aims to offer more complete insights around complex health and related issues. Prior to joining CSC, she completed program evaluations for The Homeless Children’s Education Fund in Pittsburgh, and held positions in Cleveland, Ohio with The Center for Health Affairs as Director of Volume Statistics and Analytics, and with University Hospitals as Senior Market Research Analyst.
Her research interests focus on public health and epidemiologic issues with emphasis on studying a range of health determinants and their effects on individuals, particularly for underserved, disadvantaged, underrepresented, and vulnerable populations. She looks to continue this work at CSC in ways that best support patients and encourage policy awareness.
