CSC Receives 6 Honors for Outstanding Online Resources

Submitted by kagricola on Thu, 07/13/2023 - 11:31

Cancer Support Community earned 6 wins in the annual Digital Health Awards competition, organized by the Health Information Resource Center to honor excellence in digital health resources.

WASHINGTON, D.C. ― Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the Digital Health Awards crowns the very best in online health resources. In this year’s competition, CSC was featured among other organizations such as AARP, GoodRx Health, Cigna Healthcare, and more.

In previous years, CSC has been honored with multiple awards for our resources that educate, inspire, and even entertain. This year, its e-book series Frankly Speaking About Cancer was honored with a gold award for the second time. The winning booklet focuses on ovarian cancer in the Black and African American communities.

CSC's YouTube channel won a gold award for the third time in a row. Cancer Transitions: Moving Beyond Cancer™, a web-based educational program that aims to ease the transition from treatment to survivorship, earned a bronze award.

Submitted by jcoe on Wed, 07/12/2023 - 17:03

Alicia Amling is the Chief of Staff at Temerity Capital Partners. Alicia manages the highest priority initiatives of Temerity and its founder, Andy Sandler. Alicia runs operations alongside with Michael Sandler, helping to grow the office from a group of three to its present state.

As a member of Temerity Baseball’s Board of Directors, Alicia leads community relations and manages key partnerships on behalf of the organization. She represented the team during the design and construction of Atrium Health Ballpark, recognized as Ballpark Digest’s “Ballpark of the Year” in 2022. She also spearheaded the creation of the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers’ new name and award-winning brand identity, which has consistently been recognized as one of the best brands in Minor League Baseball since its debut in 2019.

Alicia is the point-person behind Temerity’s involvement in baseball-adjacent real estate development projects. Working with partners at LMG, she helped to facilitate the groundbreaking of the first of many projects in Kannapolis, Stadium Lofts, which is set to open in July of 2023. Alicia continues to work with partners on future projects, and takes tremendous pride in her role building community and creating downtowns that people want to live, work, stay and play.

Alicia is also Executive Director of the Sandler Family Foundation. Her work with the family’s charitable arm complements her roles on other philanthropic boards, including the Global Good Fund Development Committee, the Cancer Support Community of Washington, D.C. and the Cannon Baller Foundation. Alicia has cultivated a partnership between the Cannon Baller Foundation and the Cancer Support Community wherein the Cancer Support Community will deliver their outstanding cancer navigation services and educational programming to patients at Atrium Health Cabarrus. Forging partnerships like this that deliver meaningful value to people is what Temerity — and Alicia — are all about.

Alicia joined Temerity after a career in network television, where she produced and reported from Capitol Hill, the White House, and throughout the U.S. during the 2012 and 2016 election cycles. Alicia started her career Washington, D.C., working for the number-one-rated public affairs show, “Face the Nation with Bob Schieffer.” She has the privilege of saying she was a passenger on Air Force One with both Presidents Obama and Trump. She holds a B.A. from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va.
