Breast Cancer Awareness: Let’s Talk Screening, Survivorship & Support

In the United States, mammography has helped reduce breast cancer mortality by nearly 40% since 1990. Many women have shared their own stories about the key role routine screening played in their breast cancer diagnosis, leading to timely treatment. To mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we share a few of those stories here. If you are living with breast cancer or are a caregiver to someone with breast cancer, we also share resources that can help ease the burden of your journey.

Darian Oates is a North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University graduate where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design. During his senior year he was an intern for the school’s Intramural Sports department where he managed social media and created graphics promoting events held by the department. In February of 2021 he became a Graphic Design intern for the CSC (D.C.) communications team where he brought his creative edge to brand campaigns and donor relations. Darian enjoys all things design and spending time with family.
