Activity Overview

What do you do as a clinician when the right choice is different than what you are being asked or required to do – or different than what you see going on around you? This activity focuses on moral distress, a phenomenon that nearly all clinicians will face at some point in our careers and that has been heightened during the COVID-19 pandemic. We identify how moral distress affects our ability to deliver compassionate care. We then discuss practical, relevant strategies for sustaining professional stamina and well-being of ourselves and our teams in the setting of ethically complex situations.
