Utilization Management Summit on Health Equity

The Cancer Support Community hosted it’s 3rd Annual Utilization Management (UM) Summit on November 16, 2021. This year’s Summit focused on health equity, and featured a keynote address by Dr. Karen Winkfield, Executive Director of the Meharry-Vanderbilt Alliance, and remarks from Dr. Danielle Carnival with the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. The Summit also featured a focused panel discussion on how the use of UM tools like prior authorization and step therapy may exacerbate health inequities across the healthcare system with panelists:
