On Wednesday, May 5, the Cancer Support Community's (CSC) Cancer Policy Institute will bring CSC advocates from across the country together for a virtual advocacy day!
This is an opportunity to communicate directly with your Members of Congress and their staff, and advocate on behalf of policies important to the cancer community.
Whether you are an experienced advocate, or this is your first time participating in an advocacy day, we will provide you with the knowledge and resources you need to make this the most impactful advocacy day yet. Training will be offered on two separate dates: Thursday, April 29, from 3:00-4:15 p.m. EST, and Monday, May 3, from 1:30-2:45 p.m. EST. All advocacy day participants are required to attend one of these trainings.
Additional important information:
- Meetings with legislative offices will take place throughout the day on May 5, so please plan your schedule that day accordingly. Each participant will receive their congressional schedule on April 29. Given that congressional appointments are subject to change, final schedules may not be available until the day before or day of the event. We appreciate your flexibility.
- Participants can expect to have meetings with legislative offices (Senators and Representatives), each lasting approximately 20 minutes.
- We will try to have a member of CSC headquarters staff in each of your meetings.
- Meetings will occur no earlier than 9:30 a.m. EST. For participants living outside the EST zone, we will adjust your schedules accordingly.
This is YOUR chance to ensure that the voices of those impacted by cancer are heard at the highest levels. The deadline to register for Advocacy Day is Friday, April 23, and space is limited, so register early!
Register today by completing the sign-up form. Please note that once registered, you must attend one training and be available for your scheduled meetings on advocacy day.
