Peer Clinical Trials Support Program

Learn about cancer clinical trials with support from someone who's been there.

Support, Guidance, and Encouragement — From Someone Who Understands

We know how overwhelming cancer and the idea of clinical trials can be. Sometimes it helps to talk to someone who’s gone through a similar experience.

The Cancer Support Community’s Peer Clinical Trials Support Program offers free, one-on-one support from trained peer mentors — cancer patients or survivors who’ve taken part in a cancer clinical trial.

Whether you’re newly diagnosed, thinking about a clinical trial, or already taking part in one and have questions, we’re here to help and support you.

Real Experience. Real Support

Our peer mentors offer one-on-one support, honest conversation, and trusted information about clinical trials.

They can share what it was like to take part in a clinical trial and answer questions from their own experience.

No matter where you are in the process of exploring clinical trials, our peer mentors can help you feel more prepared and confident for whatever comes next.

[That] I could talk to someone that was similar to me and who had been through a clinical trial. They had an understanding of the pros and cons and benefits of a clinical trial. I became educated. I wasn’t ready for it to end.

About The Program

Navigating cancer is hard. Understanding clinical trials shouldn’t make it harder.

We created the Peer Clinical Trials Support Program to ensure cancer patients, survivors, and previvors get the help they need to explore clinical trials with confidence.

We believe everyone deserves:

  • Clear, understandable information about clinical trials,
  • A safe, judgement-free space to ask questions, and
  • Emotional support during a complex time.

We’re not here to convince anyone to join a clinical trial. We’re here to provide people with the knowledge, confidence, and support so they can make the best decision - for them.

We also know that some communities are less represented in clinical trials.

Our Peer Program works to make clinical trials more equitable and ensure support reaches those who need it most.
