Prostate cancer is the second most common type of cancer among men. Men may find it a difficult topic to discuss with their health care providers and even with family and friends, but it’s an important conversation to have. There’s no better time than now, during Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, to share facts about the disease.

Robert had no idea that when he walked into the doctor’s office in October of 2014, he would leave with the news that he had prostate cancer. He had a high Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) reading and thought it best to further investigate. To the best of his knowledge, there was no history of prostate cancer in his family, so why would he have cancer?
