Support the health and unmet needs of cancer survivors

The Cancer Support Community supports H.R. 8839, the Comprehensive Cancer Survivorship Act, to improve long-term survivorship care and support for people living with and beyond cancer. Cancer survivors often face ongoing physical, emotional, financial, and workplace challenges long after treatment ends.

This landmark legislation would:

  • Improve transitions from cancer treatment to primary care
  • Expand survivorship navigation and care coordination services
  • Support employment assistance programs for survivors, caregivers, and families
  • Increase survivorship education and awareness for patients and providers
  • Ensure coverage for fertility preservation services
  • And more ...

According to the American Cancer Society, an estimated 18.6 million cancer survivors were living in the United States as of January 1, 2025, and that number is expected to exceed 22 million by 2035. These growing numbers highlight the urgent need for stronger survivorship care and support services.
