Is Telehealth Important to You?
Share your story to help show why telehealth services matter to people impacted by cancer.
Expanded access to telehealth services benefits cancer patients, caregivers, and all people who rely on telehealth for needed healthcare services, from lower costs to convenience, flexible scheduling, and reduced exposure to germs. Yet this expanded access may soon come to an end. Temporary telehealth flexibilities that were extended to Medicare beneficiaries during the pandemic are set to expire on Dec. 31, 2024.
But there’s still hope that these telehealth flexibilities can be made permanent.
On March 12, bipartisan members of Congress introduced the Telehealth Modernization Act of 2024 (S.3967/H.R. 7623). The bill would make permanent certain Medicare flexibilities for telehealth services and audio-only services. For example, geographic restrictions on telehealth services would be permanently removed, which can help support people impacted by cancer in rural and urban areas.
Now’s your chance to speak out.
Share why telehealth matters to you as a patient, a survivor, or a caregiver for someone living with cancer. Your story will help inform our conversations with legislators about patient and caregiver experiences and the urgent need to pass the Telehealth Modernization Act.

Ask your members of Congress to support the Telehealth Modernization Act to permanently extend telehealth flexibilities under Medicare coverage.
When the emergency telehealth law was relaxed during COVID, and physicians at the sarcoma center could allow and bill for telehealth video visits to out-of-state patients, it was a Godsend for so many of us who couldn’t travel to the sarcoma center or financially were not able to afford it. Now the sarcoma center no longer can bill for these calls and it has placed a burden on patients from access to the specialty physicians to care for their out-of-state patients.
