No one needs to face cancer alone! Each day people with cancer and their loved ones find support, education and hope through our Cancer Support Community program. The Cancer Support Community at Orlando Health UF Health Cancer Center opened its doors in 2014 to help improve the physical, emotional and social health of our patients, and we have grown to provide outreach programs at three of our cancer center locations. Our goal is to help patients maintain a high quality of life throughout cancer treatment and into survivorship. Our Cancer Support Community offers evidence-based programs such as mindfulness-based stress reduction, gentle yoga, tai chi, support groups, and other holistic classes and programs. We are committed to providing personalized, evidence-based interventions, which lead to better outcomes for those with cancer and to a brighter future for cancer treatment and care. Our
community relies upon time-tested approaches to address social and emotional health. We also use a variety of research-supported, complementary techniques that help manage cancer symptoms and side effects, as well as relieve stress and improve mental health. Our community-based program is free of charge to anyone in the Central Florida community who is currently undergoing active treatment for cancer, as well as their caregivers and families. For more information, please call our Cancer Support Community at (321) 841-5056 or email us at CancerSupportCommunity@OrlandoHealth.com.
