New Name…Same Mission.
We are pleased to share some exciting news. As we announced last year, the national headquarter offices of The Wellness Community and Gilda’s Club are working together as one, combined organization – Cancer Support Community. Cancer Support Community is the largest professionally-led network of fee-free cancer support worldwide, and is better equipped to meet the evolving needs of people touched by cancer by offering innovative and comprehensive support services.
As a result of the merger at the national level, after the new year, The Wellness Community of Southeast Michigan will become Cancer Support Community of Greater Ann Arbor. We are excited about the adoption of a new name that so perfectly reflects who we are and what we do.
What this means to you:
- All of our programs and services will remain free of charge to all those touched by cancer.
- You will see “Cancer Support Community of Greater Ann Arbor” on our calendars, signs, and flyers. Our name reflects exactly who we are, your CANCER SUPPORT COMMMUNITY.
- As a member of the largest network of fee-free psychosocial support globally, there is opportunity for our local community, including:
- Increased influence on the local and international landscape to ensure psychosocial support is available to all people touched by cancer
- Access to new on-line support programs
- Access to innovative programs and services, including increased services for children.
- Contributions made to Cancer Support Community of Greater Ann Arbor will continue to go toward ensuring the availability of fee-free services for cancer patients in our region.
