Frankly Speaking about Cancer: Myelofibrosis Webinar
Addressing the unmet needs of those impacted by Myelofibrosis

When living with a rare disease like Myelofibrosis, the information and resources you need may be hard to find. To support and empower those impacted by Myelofibrosis, the Cancer Support Community hosted a webinar, Frankly Speaking about Cancer: Myelofibrosis on December 18, 2012.

The webinar provided an interactive forum for Myelofibrosis patients, caregivers, and others to learn more about their condition, understand the meaning about its recent reclassification as a cancer, hear about the latest treatment options, and build confidence in coping with the complications and emotional challenges that arise with Myelofibrosis.

The program featured an esteemed panel of professionals with rich experience and insights. They included:
  • Dr. Ruben A. Mesa, MD, Chair, Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology, Professor of Medicine, Mayo Clinic Arizona
  • Melissa Wright, LMSW, OSW-C, Program Director at Gilda’s Club Quad Cities
  • Bob Swanson, Director with Myeloproliferative Neoplasms Education Foundation and myelofibrosis survivor of 12 years

From this webinar, participants can hear both patient and expert perspectives on living with Myelofibrosis. If you are someone who is impacted by Myelofibrosis, you won’t want to miss this informative program.
