Frankly Speaking About Cancer: Liver Cancer Webinar

Receiving a liver cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming.  But, you are not alone, and there are many resources to help you along the way.

On September 7, 2012,  the Cancer Support Community and CanLiv hosted a free webinar, Frankly Speaking on Cancer: Liver Cancer  to provide useful information to patients, caregivers, and others impacted by liver cancer. The program aimed to empower those affected by liver cancer to become more active participants in their treatment decision-making and more confident in coping with challenges during and after cancer treatment.

The webinar highlighted learning how to get an accurate diagnosis, understanding personal treatment options, managing symptoms and side effects, and coping with challenges during and after treatment.

Guest speakers included:
  • Dr. Melanie Thomas, Associate Clinical Director of the Hollings Cancer Center at the Medical University of South Carolina and medical expert in the treatment of liver cancer
  • Dr. Peggy Rios, Program Director at Cancer Support Community Greater Miami and psychosocial expert
