Coping with Cancer Costs

Hearing that you or someone you love has cancer can be overwhelming. Questions abound:

Will I (or my loved one) survive?
How will my family be affected?
Will my insurance cover my care?
Will my family be burdened with huge debt?

For some, the questions come all at once. For others, they arrive one by one. Having a plan to deal with these questions is vital. It’s hard to talk about money. However, having open conversations about money and the cost of cancer care can help you become better informed about your options for help. You may be able to reduce the financial impact of treating cancer.

Asking for and accepting help can also be hard. Many families facing cancer have shared with the Cancer Support Community that financial worries are a significant source of stress, and they don’t know where to turn. This site a starting place to learn how to talk about the financial side of cancer and where to go for help.
