Do you want to learn more about clinical trials for immunotherapy treatments?

Watch the webinar, Frankly Speaking About Cancer: Clinical Trials and Immunotherapy, that took place on October 24, 2016, for what you need to know about immunotherapy treatment and finding clinical trials that might be right for you. Immunotherapy works by boosting the body’s natural ability to fight cancer. Doctors are using clinical trials to learn more about immunotherapy and what types of cancer it can treat. In this webinar, an oncologist will give an overview of immunotherapy and the kind of clinical trials available. A cancer survivor, who is part of an immunotherapy clinical trial, will share her story. These presentations will be followed by a question and answer period with the speakers.

The Cancer Support Community recently launched the Frankly Speaking About Cancer Clinical Trials program. This landmark cancer education series is devoted to building awareness among patients and caregivers about the importance of clinical trials as viable treatment options.

The webinar features the following panelists:

  • Dr. Giuseppe Giaccone, MD, PhD, Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center
  • Shannon Semple, Thymus Cancer survivor who joined an immunotherapy clinical trial

This program was made possible by charitable grants from Amgen, Celgene, AstraZeneca, Karyopharm, Pfizer and Novartis.
