The Living Room® - Online Support Community
You can find valuable online services, connect with others, join professionally facilitated support groups or just browse the discussion boards at The Living Room® . You can explore information on specific cancer types, living life after treatment, caregiving and more.
Research has shown that cancer support groups help reduce the three most significant stressors associated with cancer: unwanted aloneness, loss of control and loss of hope. In fact, research conducted at the Cancer Support Community
has shown that people who participate in support groups, either face-to-face or online, report significant decreases in depression, increased zest for life and a new attitude toward their illness.
Cancer Transitions® - Moving Beyond Treatment
Cancer Transitions: Moving Beyond Treatment®
is an evidence based program for cancer survivors of any cancer diagnosis who have completed treatment. The program, developed in partnership with LiveStrong®, is targeted to those who have competed treatment within the last 24 months. However, Cancer Transitions may benefit survivors at any time in their survivorship beyond 24 months. The program covers the benefits of exercise, nutrition, emotional support and medical management - core issues for cancer survivors. This six-week program is designed to help redefine how we live our lives from this point forward. It is offered in face-to-face groups across the country. Cancer Transitions® has recently added an online option
for those who do not have an in-person program available in their community.
