CSC is pleased to announce J. Neil Bassett as the new chair of the Headquarters Board of Directors.  Neil is Vice President, Investments, at UBS Financial Services and has long been involved in community service. 

CSC Launches 2nd Edition of Frankly Speaking About Cancer®: Liver Cancer
CSC released its Frankly Speaking About Cancer: Liver Cancer booklet in December.  This second edition includes comprehensive information on what liver cancer is, how it is diagnosed, treatment options, tips on how to partner with your health care team and how to cope with the emotional and practical challenges people with cancer may face.

Program Spotlight Kid Support™: CSC's Support & Education Program for Children
cancer affects not just the person diagnosed but also family members and friends.  It is estimated that there are currently 2.85 million children younger than 18 years of age living in a household where someone has cancer and nearly 600,000 of these children are living with a parent who has been diagnosed with cancer within the last two years. 

Cancer Support Community Celebrates 30 Years at Annual Conference in LA
Affiliates from across the country gathered in Los Angeles's L.A. Live Complex for the annual conference and to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of The Wellness Community.  The meeting is an opportunity for affiliate leaders to share, learn and present on a wide range of topics and issues from development, social media, public policy, programs and management.

CSC Hits a Social Media Milestone
The Cancer Support Community Facebook page received its 3,000th "like" in December, an exciting feat in the social media world!  The more followers a Facebook page has, the faster our message and mission are shared with the vast Facebook community.

Living a Healthy Lifestyle in 2013: Frankly Speaking About Cancer®: Living Healthy with Cancer Provides Resources to Stay Healthy in the New Year
CSC developed the Living Healthy with Cancer program to help people living with cancer in four key areas: Nutrition, Exercise, Emotional Support and Medical Management.
