Welcome to Cancer Transitions: Moving Beyond Treatment. Cancer Transitions is an evidence-based program for survivors of any cancer diagnosis who have completed treatment. The program is targeted to those who have completed their treatment within the last 24 months; however, Cancer Transitions may benefit survivors at any time in their survivorship beyond 24 months. The program covers the benefits of exercise, nutrition, emotional support, and medical management—core issues for cancer survivors.
This six-week program is designed to help redefine how we live our lives from this point forward. It is offered in face-to-face groups across the country (Cancer Transitions dates and locations
) and also online
. The Cancer Transitions: Moving Beyond Treatment workbook, and the Facing Forward: Life After Cancer Treatment booklet from the NCI to guides discussion throughout the program, along with other interactive content.
Cancer Transitions® was developed in 2006 by the Cancer Support Community and the LIVESTRONG™
Foundation to support and empower survivors as they transition from active treatment to post-treatment. Our research shows that both men and women who participate can experience:
- Less worry about the negative impacts of cancer
- Better physical and social functioning
- More commitment to physical activity
- Improvements in fat related dietary habits
